This year for my birthday, I want to help an organization that has been an incredible gift to me since I was a kid. Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center is a place set apart that intentionally provides for the faith development of people of all ages in Christian community within the natural beauty of God's creation.
As with many other non-profits, Aldersgate largely relies on donations to make their ministry possible. Recently, their industrial dishwasher kicked the bucket and as you can imagine the replacement cost is no small fee. $8,000 is needed to replace the old dishwasher and to get their kitchen back to operating with efficiency.
Giving money for a dishwasher doesn't really give the thrill or good feelings that giving to something more "life-giving" would, but trust me, when you help a place like Aldersgate replace an expensive, needed piece of equipment, you free up their funds for the feel good stuff!
They have already received a generous donation from a local church, but they still need $7,100 to buy a new industrial dishwasher. Please consider giving to a dishwasher, yes, but also to a much bigger cause!
