Homeless, mentally & physically disabled people in India
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
I'm Rikki, and during my recent trip to India, I had the privilege of visiting Pingalwara, a centre dedicated to supporting homeless individuals, the disabled, and those facing mental health challenges.
Pingalwara extends its care to a diverse range of people, including those with physical & mental disabilities, cancer, deafness & blindness, paralysis, polio, AIDS and more...
The work they undertake is truly remarkable, and I had the opportunity to witness this firsthand when I dropped by to visit. Every single individual there receives exceptional care and support, but unfortunately the government do very little to help.
They therefore rely on charitable donations to help them maintain this standard adn continue providing food, shelter, education, training, and prosthetic limbs to those in need.
They also help individuals transition safely back into ordinary life - for example, helping individuals without lower limbs to train in bakery skills, empowering them to establish their own restaurants or work for others.
Tragically, many babies with disabilities are abandoned at Pingalwara's doorstep.
Even a small donation can have a significant impact. Every contribution, no matter how small or big makes a meaningful difference.
1. RELATIONSHIP: a charity I visited while in India
2. HOW WE WILL DELIVER THE FUNDS: we are in discussion with the team at 'PINGALWARA CHARITABLE SOCIETY UK' and we are looking at how best we can use this money (for example, building more rooms).
Pingalwara Charitable Society UK are the UK based version of this charity and they send 100% of all proceeds directly to India.
Thanks,
