The Huber Family

Years ago, I helplessly watched my sister and brother in law go through an unimaginable loss. My faith was shaken to my core, as was theirs; yet somehow, we watched them grow and rise from their pain, and a year later we welcomed Mollie into the world. She has always been this beautiful light for our family. She was the first grandchild earth side, she was the light in the dark that we all needed. Mollie has continued to be this amazing light, she brings life and joy into every room she steps into. Watching her grow has been the greatest thing to see, and I’m so proud of her; but right now, I’m scared for her. She’s faced a lot of challenges with her seizures, and just when we thought things were under control, her family noticed changes. Mollie has never backed down from a battle, she’s fought through her struggles to keep playing sports, she’s kept thriving in school and she’s never once complained “why me”. She’s so strong, but I wish she didn’t have to be.

As a whole, our family has never been ones to ask for help, or admit that we might need it. We put on our boots and we keep moving forward and find a way. Which is what Mollie has always done, but maybe just this once, a little help won’t hurt.

Here soon, Vicki and Mollie will go to Cincinnati to try and get more answers about her seizures and a path forward with treatment. This is going to be a whole week away from home. Hotels, travel expenses, food and eventually medical bills. I know Vicki will kill me when she sees this, but just this once, I’ll take my chewing with a smile :). Mitch and Vicki would move heaven and earth for their kids. I just want to show them that there’s an army of people helping them push.
