The Hughes Family

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I write this.

This week has brought heartache and tragedy to the Hughes family & friends. On Wednesday, November 2, Terrence Hughes life was cut short suddenly, and unexpectedly. Terrence was a loving husband and best friend to his wife, Brooke, as well as a constant daily presence in the lives of his extended family. If you were fortunate enough to meet Terrence, then you know that to know Terrence is to love Terrence; there were no acquaintances in his eyes. Terrence always had a smile on his face and a big welcoming hug, he was such a lover of life, which included his family, and of course the 49’ers. He was that rare person who had the ability to make anyone feel welcome; he would give the shirt off his back if he could.

Having to create this for him is difficult because it really brings to light how precious our time here on Earth is and how we must always cherish our family and friends. The world truly lost some of its shine when we lost Terence so unexpectedly, he was just that remarkable of a person. You can always tell the impact a person has when the mere mention of their name brings a smile to your face, it’s just who he was.

There are no words to describe the loss that their family is going through. No words to ease the pain after losing such a big part of their lives in the blink of an eye. We ask for continued prayers for his wife Brooke, their family, and their friends. May they find strength in God and may Terrence rest in peace.

Not only is his family having to come to terms with the loss of such an important person in their lives, but they are also having to deal with the added burden of cost that his passing will bring, at present, and down the road. So, while we can’t shoulder their sorrow for them, my hope is that we can ease some of the financial burden as they grieve and prepare services for Terrence. Donations of any amount are genuinely appreciated. All money raised will be directly transferred to the family to help with the funeral costs, and anything remaining will be put towards expenses that lay ahead.
