The Hunter Atkins family needs your help!

Hi my name is Tami Altenburg and my 5 year old nephew is very sick and him and his family need your help. He was brought in by his mom Carrie Atkins on Saturday evening to the ER with severe pain in his belly. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. They were thinking it was just constipation and tried everything to help with that. Carrie noticed his belly starting to become distended and she told the Dr this. The Dr was already on the phone with Children's hospital in the cities. Shortly after that they were ambulanced to Children's where a very alert Dr in their ER said we have a very sick kiddo and they went into action. They found that he had sepsis and they intubated him and tried to figure out what was going on. So they started him on Vancomyocin, (for the sepsis) a very powerful antibiotic. They also found out he had volvulus which is a twisting of his intestinal loops, and intestinal malrotation which is congenital and results from a problem in the normal formation of the fetal intestines. There is a disruption in the usual steps that the intestines follow to arrive at the correct position within the abdomen. They did surgery right away and he had necrotization of some of his bowel that they took out. The other area of concern was untwisted and turned pink again which was great news, but then his blood pressure dropped very low and they ended up giving him a few blood transfusions and this and medication, helped him get that blood pressure back up to normal and they are now monitoring this very closely. He also had a very high temperature which they were also trying to get down as well. He still has a low grade temperature which is normal due to the sepsis. They have 2 nurses watching him constantly through a window to make sure if anything is needed they are quick to get it done. They did his 2nd surgery on Tuesday Oct 24th and had to take some more of the intestine but were optimistic. They knew there would be a 3rd surgery and had that scheduled for Thurs Oct 26th but due to swelling in his little hands and feet they are giving him diuretics to try and get the fluid off before they do a 3rd, and hopefully the final, surgery on Friday Oct 27th. Jeremy and Carrie Atkins could use your support in this extremely scary time! They could use your help! We as their family are doing our best to help with the 3 kids at home while they are with Hunter in the hospital. We just don't know when he will be able to come home yet.
Please pray for Hunter, and help with what you can as the family tries to get through this scary time.

Thank you in advance!!
