The Ida B. Wells Textbook Fund for HBCU Students

Donation protected
Hello Friends,

My name is Dr. Stacey Patton, award-winning journalist, child advocate, and journalism professor. For nearly a decade, I’ve been raising funds to ensure that HBCU students have access to the tools they need to succeed.

Semester after semester, I hear the same stories from students struggling to afford their textbooks, course codes, digital equipment, and even basic devices like Chromebooks. These are brilliant, determined young people fighting against the odds, working hard to build their futures—but too often, the rising cost of education puts even the essentials out of reach.

Over the years, the Ida B. Wells Textbook Fund has provided critical support to over 1,000 students. This semester, our goal is ambitious but necessary: to raise $25,000 in just 10 days to support at least 100 students. Each student will be eligible to receive funds to cover these vital costs, offering them one less thing to worry about as they pursue their dreams.

Imagine being a student who has to decide between paying for rent or a required textbook. Picture the frustration of sitting in class without the course materials everyone else has—or the anxiety of falling behind because you can’t afford the latest software or equipment. These are the daily struggles many college students across America face. It’s not just about books—it’s about leveling the playing field, ensuring these young people have the same opportunities to thrive as anyone else.

Your support can make a world of difference. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us chip away at the barriers these students face. It’s a way of saying, We see you. We believe in you. We want to invest in your success.

The Ida B. Wells Textbook Fund is more than a campaign—it’s a lifeline. It’s about creating a future where education is accessible and students can focus on their learning instead of their financial burdens. Let’s make this semester brighter for 100 HBCU students. Together, we can ensure they have the resources they need to succeed.

Will you join us in this mission? Donate today and help us reach our goal of $25,000. Together, we can make a powerful statement: HBCU students matter, and their success is worth investing in.

Thank you for your support!
