On September 29, 2020, our community was forever changed when we lost Mark and Jacob Iskander in a heartbreaking incident. These young lives were cut short while crossing in a marked crosswalk, leaving behind a family shattered by grief and a community united in sorrow. It’s been almost three years since that tragic day, and the pain still lingers in our hearts.

Mark and Jacob were more than just beloved members of our community; they were symbols of joy, compassion, and boundless potential. In their memory, we are embarking on a mission that not only honors their lives but also seeks to create a lasting impact that will bring hope and support to those who need it the most.

The pain of their loss has inspired us to take action to channel our grief into a force for good.

We have made a thoughtful decision to focus our efforts on supporting the Iskander family’s dream of establishing a Foster Family Agency, rather than raising funds for a treehouse in Three Springs Park, as initially discussed.

In partnership with The Good Shepherd Foster Family Agency, the Iskander Family will be opening a Foster Family Agency in the Thousand Oaks/Westlake area BY THE END OF 2023! Our goal is simple: to provide a haven for children in need and a lifeline of support for foster families.

Through this GoFundMe campaign, we invite you to be part of this transformative journey. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will directly contribute to the establishment of the Foster Family Agency. EVERY DOLLAR will help create a nurturing environment where children can thrive, where families can find the resources they need, and where the spirit of Mark and Jacob can shine through. Because of Mark and Jacob more of God’s children in Ventura County will have a home.
