The Island of Rhodes (Greece) - The Wildfires

Hello, our names are Kristin and Maria. Maria was born in Rhodes, and it's where her family lives. We both worked for many summers in Rhodes and had the opportunity to meet while working in a dive school. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow due to the devastating fires currently affecting Rhodes. Unfortunately, our current jobs prevent us from being there physically to assist in the amazing efforts made by everyone on the island.

During our time in Rhodes, we encountered incredible people and built strong connections with others who lived and worked there during the summer seasons. Seeing the impact of these fires on the people, businesses, tourists, and animals in Rhodes has moved us deeply, and we wanted to do something to help.

Therefore, we have decided to start a fundraiser to raise money for those affected by the fires. Rhodes has been home to numerous seasonal workers over the years, and we want to support the community that loves and cares about this beautiful island just as much as we do.

Every donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Even just 1 euro can make a difference, as it could buy a bottle of water for the hardworking volunteers. Together, let's stand in solidarity with Rhodes and support the people and wildlife impacted by this tragedy.

We have opted for GoFundMe because, at present, there is no relief organization established for the ongoing disaster. However, rest assured that the funds raised will be directed to a reputable organization dedicated to providing relief efforts for the disaster.
