The James Dean Gallery Fundraising Project
The James Dean Gallery is a Museum Exhibit in the actor’s hometown of Fairmount, Indiana. The Gallery opened in 1988 and during those thirty-two years over 400,000 people have toured the exhibit from around the world. In recent years The James Dean Gallery has been named the Most Popular Year-round Tourist Attraction in Grant County.
The James Dean Gallery has been closed for business for the past two months due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our gift shop has been stocked up and ready for the busy Spring and Summer seasons which will now not happen. With no walk-in business our daily operational funds are not coming in as planned.
This season we had planned upgrades to the exhibit and some much-needed maintenance to both the interior and exterior of the one hundred and seventeen-year-old historic structure. All of that has now been put on hold and the much-needed repairs and maintenance to the building are getting worse as time goes by.
The James Dean Gallery is privately owned and operated and receives no funding, grants or trusts from any government or private sources. The revenue needed for operating expenses, and maintenance of the collection and the building itself come solely from Gift Shop Sales and Donations.
James Dean has been an inspiration to so many people in so many ways over the years. We hope that we can depend on some financial assistance from his many fans around the world. Whatever amount you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration, and we hope to see you in Fairmount!
