The Jiles Family Disaster Recovery Fund
Disaster unexpectedly hit the Jiles' family yesterday. The extreme rain and quickly rising water left everyone running for cover. Unfortunately, the Jiles' have lost their home, their farm, their vehicles, and their sense of peace. They are raising Lillian, the sweetest 10 month old to ever hit earth, but are up against a wall as they have lost everything.
Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Cassie, Josh and Lillian know how kind, good-natured, and deserving they are. Josh and Cassie are both talents the Asheville beer industry all while creating a beautiful farm from the ground up in Canton. The joy that their farm, animals, and family brings them is clear to everyone who knows them.
Big Ears Farmstead allowed Cassie and Josh to live their happiest dreams while growing food, flowers and raising animals. They added the best part when their daughter Lillian arrived last November. Sadly, their entire property and home has been destroyed by the aftermath of Hurricane Fred. Their house was ripped off of its foundation and is not longer habitable. All of their vehicles were washed away in the flood. The East Fork of the Pigeon dumped water downstream in a historic way never seen before in this beautiful valley located in Cruso. While the donkeys, Jasmine, Archie, Penny, and the dogs and cats were safe, their other livestock didn't make it. The farm will not be able to produce for years to come. It truly is a worst case scenario.
Let's rally around this family and help them reestablish everything better than ever. There is an immediate need for necessities, especially for Lillian. All donations will go directly to the family. Anything helps. Thank you so much.
