The Jim Hunt Memorial Fund

To honor Jim Hunt, please contribute to this memorial fund that will be split between two things he held dear: pursuing peace among people and spending time in connection with nature. As a family, we would like to benefit two very different places:

- Veterans For Peace is a grassroots organization of veterans and others who believe strongly that diplomacy is paramount and war the path of last resort.

Camp Van Vac is a rustic family-owned resort on Burntside Lake near Ely, MN. We have been going there for 43 years, and it was Jim’s favorite place on earth. It has been family-owned since it was built in 1917 and kept affordable for families through good stewardship and hard work. For more than three decades, our family and others would volunteer in spring and fall to help with splitting firewood, repairs, and improvements. It is this place that Jim spent the last two weeks of his life, surrounded by our family. The second week was made possible by the generosity of a complete stranger to our family (a friend of the owner) who gave up their week in a cabin. We would like to sponsor a project in his name.
