The John Brennan (Shaggy) Benefit
Donation protected
Hello, we are doing a fundraiser for John Brennan aged 45 from Kilbride, County Roscommon, Ireland who has been living in New York for the past 20 years.
On January 2nd 2024, John had a serious fall resulting in a traumatic brain injury. John was admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he spent 2 weeks in a coma due to a bleed on the brain.
Here, he underwent extensive treatment, and a shunt was inserted helping alleviate the pressure and fluid in his skull. John's cognitive functions, memory and thinking skills are not what they used to be, which now requires him to receive ongoing extensive occupational, physical and speech therapies. John is currently on a hard road to recovery in Rusk Rehabilitaion Centre, New York. Unfortunately, this is due to end Friday 23rd February. The only care available to John from that point on is a home help service which he will require 24-hours a day and this is going to come at a huge financial cost.
It's very difficult to set a fundraising goal as recovery expenses can range from $100,000 to $2,000,000. All monies raised will go towards John's recovery.
We genuinely appreciate any support you can provide, whether it's a donation, sharing this campaign with your friends and family or simply keeping John in your thoughts and prayers. We are deeply grateful for your help during this difficult time.
