The Kanon McVicker Fund

On July 4th, while spending time with his closest family and friends out on their boat at Gull Lake, Kanon McVicker was involved in an accident which resulted in a life-altering spinal cord injury. 

The news Kanon has received, after an extensive spinal surgery on his C5 vertebrae, is that he will be facing an extremely lengthy and enduring process in order to retain his mobility again. 

For those of you who know Kanon personally, this is someone who is very physically active and takes great pride in that. He has played sports his entire life, he loves working out and going on runs with his brother, Lane. He is a U.S. National Guardsman and is always down for a quick backyard football game with his best friends, Matt, Garrett and Alasdair. This news and life change will be extremely hard to accept and adapt to for Kanon as well as all of us. Together everyone will come together to modify their home to make it accessible for Kanon to come home and adapt to his new life change. 

We are asking you, as family, as friends, as acquaintances, as a community, to help out with the expenses the McVickers are about to endure over the next couple of weeks and months - for the rest of their life, really. This is already such a stressful time so let’s make sure there is one last thing that they need to worry about right now. Kanon is loved by so many people and has impacted so many lives. It’s our time to give back and lift him and his family back up with love and support. 

The McVickers would love to say “Thank You” to everyone who has reached out to them during this time and are very appreciative for the love and prayers Kanon is receiving. Keep the prayers coming, keep the positive thoughts coming because with our support, Kanon will get through this.
