The Kit Share Project, Bangladesh, May 2024
Donation protected
Hi, Jake here. Thanks for clicking onto my page!
I have been invited by the Kit Share Project (http://www.kitshareproject.com) to travel to Bangladesh in May 2024 to provide young boys and girls with football kits, boots and equipment. It is a fantastic charity actively trying to help to reduce waste whilst also making football more accessible to those in developing countries. Kit Share Project has been running since 2010 and so far have donated over 2 tonnes of football kit to those in deprived parts of the world. The project believes in spreading the game, not only to share the health benefits, but also to promoted social engagement.
The other exciting part of Kit Share Project is the bigger goal - the transformation of a large patch of unused land into a football pitch which will become the hub for several villages. The aim is that this pitch will be a self sustaining, all weather pitch, with stands, floodlights and facilities and will be transformative for the region. All donations raised will go towards the next stage of this brilliant project.
Over the next 7 months I will be fundraising for this trip, via this gofund me page and also via fund raising efforts in my hometown of Crouch End.
I have never been to a developing country before and am a little nervous! I know this trip is going to be an incredible experience - not only being involved in a worthwhile cause but stepping out of my comfort zone for the first time. I can't wait to properly live and breathe a new culture. I know this trip will open my eyes and equip me with new life skills.
I will be travelling with Taff, Matt and Max who are not just amazing coaches with Just Play FC (the local grassroots football club that I coach for) but also inspirational mentors to me. I look forward to following their lead, learning from them and making the most of this trip.
I am incredibly grateful to have been given this opportunity.
Thanks in advance for all donations!
