The Kruger100 Charity Challenge
Donation protected
I'm Chris and my plan is to hopefully raise £10,000 over the next four years and too which will then be divided equally between four charitable reliant organisations. Those being Parkinson’s UK and Macmillan plus two wildlife projects that are all involved with protecting endangered species - The Pro-trac Rhino Task Team (an anti-poaching training and prevention unit) and The Black Mambas APU (an all-female organisation working both in the field and with the local community )
My motivation behind this was that having spent a number of years working in South Africa (in and around the iconic “Kruger National Park”) what could I do for endangered wildlife and their habitat having seen first-hand the plight they are under, along with also having very close personal experience with Parkinson’s and Myelofibrosis it seemed right and poignant to link all into one personal independent fundraising appeal, that will hopefully not only create more awareness and well needed financial support for my benefactors but be of educational interest to many.
My aim is to ride my motorcycle visiting 100 Zoos, wildlife rehabilitation centres and national parks across the UK culminating in 2026 then riding around South Africa visiting rescue and rehabilitation centres and other linkminded places (ending up at The Kruger National Park for its 100th anniversary). I'm sure there will be a couple of other mad ideas I may come up with through the duration so keep a look out. The plan is also to document the whole project from start to finish on the webiste, through my social media channels, and with a photographic diary / book.
