Dear Friends and Family,

This week, our cousin Michael Balsley, his wife Molly Schaffer, and their four beautiful children—Charlie, Will, Kate, and Ben—experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Their home was destroyed in the fires raging across Los Angeles. They lost everything. Clothes, books, cherished memories, toys, and the everyday essentials we all take for granted were all reduced to ashes in a matter of moments. The above photo shows all that is left.

Thankfully, they are safe, but their lives have been turned upside down. As they navigate the overwhelming maze of insurance claims, red tape, and the emotional toll of this sudden loss, they face the daunting challenge of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

In the wake of this tragedy, many of us have asked, “What can we do to help?” Here’s how: Let’s come together as a community to support them. Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 to help Mike, Molly, and the kids cover immediate needs over the next few weeks—clothing, food, toiletries, school supplies, belongings for the kids, and other basic necessities.
