The Laura (Lori) Masters Memorial Fund

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Laura (Lori) Masters. Lori will always be remembered as a kind, gentle soul with the biggest heart. She was always so full of compassion and had a giving, loving spirit even as a child. Lori touched the lives of so many people in such a positive way. She never said no to anyone in need and would go out of her way, no matter the distance to help, never asking for anything in return. Lori will continue to live on in our hearts and in our memories.

Lori never quit fighting for her life. After her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in June of 2020, she immediately started chemo, had Whipple surgery in December of 2020, and endured over 17 rounds of chemo following the surgery. Up until the very end she was looking into various clinical trials in different states, a true testament to the fighter she was.

Sadly, she was hospitalized at Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital at the end of June 2022, and on June 30th she was placed on hospice care and given two weeks to two months to live. Despite her will to live, the cancer had metastasized. Lori passed away on August 11, 2022. During this traumatic time, the family had endured not only emotional pain, but financial constraints as well.

Lori was loved by so many people including her husband Ron, her children Meghan, Joshua, Jake and Carli. Her grandchildren Madison, Shaylyn and Marley. Her siblings Lou, Rebecca (Bobby), and Paul. She has many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. We are so grateful to all her friends and support groups who have been by her side throughout this journey. They brought her great hope and joy despite all of the challenges throughout the years.
We are asking our family and friends to contribute toward the Lori Masters Memorial Fund. All donations will go toward covering medical expenses, end of life arrangements, and all of the expenses incurred when Lori and her son, Jake, had to stop working to care for her during this time.

The amount of emotional support our family has been receiving is incredible and a true testament to Lori’s meaningful and bright life. We hope you can make a positive difference for Lori’s family during this tragic time. Thank you for your prayers, kind words, and donations. Please share your memories or stories, we would love to hear them.

With all our love,
The family of Lori Masters
