The Lawrence Family Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Jessica Hatch, and I am starting this GoFundMe to benefit Danielle Lawrence. Danielle is my sister-in-law, and many of you know her, and my brother JC, from when we owned Take 5 Deli in Alpena, Michigan.
Danielle and JC have two beautiful young kids, John Matthew, and Charlotte Rose, and right now the family is in a very scary situation. We have started this GoFundMe to help them raise funds during this medical crisis.

All donations are GREATLY appreciated. Now onto the story of what’s going on.
As a child, Danielle had a very rare form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that she battled, and beat. So a few months ago when this pain in her hip started, she knew she needed to get things checked out. After months of going back and forth to the doctor, with no real answers and the pain only getting worse, she eventually had a referral to a neurosurgeon in Saginaw, but her appointment was over a month and a half out, and her pain was getting worse and worse by the day. They have two young children and she could barely manage! My brother was working full-time, and our parents stepped in to help, but we needed to know what was happening.
Fast forward to Friday, February 24th. The pain was unbearable, and they were sent to the ER in Saginaw, Michigan. Hoping to just get some answers, things quickly turned into a nightmare scenario. Test after test, and night after night, slowly we all realized this wasn’t going to be a short trip Danielle was admitted to the hospital. Scan after scan, finding things that weren’t necessarily causing the majority of her pain, and then they found something. An unusually large mass, that needs to be addressed quickly, that is pressing on her sciatica never, near where she had cancer as a child.
They called it a muscular skeletal growth. It’s very close to where she had rare cancer as a child. After talking to many specialists about it is cancer, is it not cancer, and finding out that no matter what it is, it will be very delicate to remove, with a lot of risks, it was decided they needed to move her to another hospital .
On March 2nd, they took Danielle by Ambulance from Saginaw to Henry Ford hospital for further tests. Reconfirming that there is a large mass, and that it’s intertwined in the muscle tissue, and possibly nerve endings as well. On March 3rd, they did a very risky biopsy of the mass to figure out if it is indeed cancer or not. For now, we will not be calling it the C-Word, as we are trying to stay positive and hope for the best. The biopsy was successful, and now we are in the waiting stages to find out exactly what this mass is.
As I said, during this time, my brother is trying to stay close to her, near the hospital (or sleeping at the hospital when he has to). They are just over 4 hours away from home. My parents are doing their best to take care of their kids, and I am helping with the dog, Saide. This is going to be a very long road, and like most people know, a medical crisis can put a massive amount of strain on a family. If you can donate, it’s greatly appreciated. And if you cannot, sharing this Gofundme is just as helpful. The more people her story reaches, the better.
