LETS PUT A MURAL IN EVERY STATE

After the shock of Roe v Wade being overturned, outraged fiber artist, Jen LaMastra designed and organized THE LIBERTY CROCHET MURAL.   LaMastra collected crochet allies across the country to use their crochet hooks as a subversive act of revolution and dissent. 40 squares, amassing 17ft by 11ft --puzzled together--amplifying millions of unheard voices. 

The 150,000 stitches show Lady Liberty uplifting a uterus that is being held by the American Medical Association. The three stars recognize the three Supreme Court justices who dissented, and the pink triangle is emblematic of all people with uteruses and the full spectrum needs of reproductive healthcare.

Our goal is to create a mural for every state!

After the first mural was created, requests poured in to participate. A fiber revolution began. All ages, genders, and races join together in construction, assembly, and storytelling. Each mural has been made possible by the enormous generosity of time and funding of each participant and host. This grassroots project is rapidly growing, and we need your support for its momentum.

In six short months, 9 Liberty Crochet Murals have been created in different states. (Oregon, Minnesota, Arizona, Washington, Kentucky, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New York), and 11 more are launching in the coming months. So far our murals have been displayed at concerts, rallies, marches, on buildings, at health centers, at art shows, at a synagogue, inside government buildings like City Hall, and soon in Albany, on the Capitol building.  

What we need from you

We're looking to raise 50k (about a thousand dollars per state). Your contribution will help cover costs of supplies, installation, travel, lodging, marketing, website, event launches, and administrative support; as well as take any financial burden or restriction from people wanting to participate in voicing their rights to bodily autonomy. Your donation will help thread together generations of unheard & underrepresented voices & empower folks to take action in protecting bodies with uteruses.

And as a thank you for your support, every donation will receive a Liberty Crochet Sticker. And donations of $100 and greater will receive a bag of craftivist goodies you can sport at the next protest/rally or dinner party you go to.
