The Limes Restoration, Grampound Tannery

Donation protected
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far either on GoFundMe or locally. We have : moved the last piece of the water wheel, dug out the pond and cut down the ash stump over the water wheel pit. It's all good news.
Please carry on donating - even a small amount helps the total to grow.
Help Us Restore Grampound with Creed's Historic Tannery site at The Limes!

We are the Grampound with Creed Heritage Project, a passionate team of volunteers dedicated to preserving the oldest area of the Manor Tannery known as The Limes. Our mission is to restore this historic site so future generations can experience and appreciate its vital role in our community's history.

Why This Matters: The Manor Tannery is a cornerstone of our heritage, reflecting centuries of local craftsmanship and industry. By restoring it, we’re not just preserving buildings; we’re safeguarding stories, traditions, and a tangible link to our past.
How You Can Help: We need your support to continue our vital restoration work. Your donations will enable us to:
Restore the Waterwheel: return the last piece of the waterwheel to its rightful place and reassemble it.
Conduct Essential Surveys: Perform wildlife and topographical surveys to guide our restoration efforts.
Clear the Site: Remove overgrown vegetation to reveal the tannery's hidden features.
Repair Key Structures: Work on the water wheel pit, lime pits, and the leat, and finish the pond restoration.
Stabilize Ruins: Ensure the remaining buildings are safe and stable for future generations to explore.
Our Commitment: As a dedicated team within the Parish Council, we are committed to preserving this site without burdening the Council’s budget. We aim to make the tannery safe and accessible for everyone, creating an educational and inspirational space for all to enjoy.
Get Involved: Join us on this journey to restore a piece of our shared history. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to our goal. Together, we can create a lasting legacy for our community.
