The Lirette Family's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hey family. Some of you call me Aaron, most call me Duckie. On July 24th my Dad, my Papa, had an arterial dissection while riding his motorcycle in Tennessee. As anyone in the medical field can tell, they call that the widow maker. It kills most people before they even make it to the ER. By luck or divine providence, my father happened to crash outside of a community center and that saved his life. However, things are not good. We take more steps back than we do forward. They can't transfer him to New Orleans yet and the hotel bills are rising for my Mama. The medical bills are increasing. He won't be able to go back to work for a year at least. The man is in his 70's and still working. He's a tough son of a gun, but right now he needs us. We need you.
My Papa always loved me and made me feel loved. He worked hard, but always took me to the movies and let me buy whatever I wanted from KB Toys. To be honest, we couldn't be more different. He likes riding bikes and working with tools. I liked books and pretending to be things I wasn't. Let me tell you, he gave me everything. Whether I was Steve Urkel or Crocodile Dundee...my Papa let me be whatever I wanted. He might not have understood it, but he loved me...he wanted me to always know that. I remember a hilarious conversation between us. I'm dressed up as a vampire for a nerdy event and he's like, "My weird son."
"I'm your only son."
"You're still weird, but I love you."
"I love you too Papa."
We may be different people, but he'll always be a superhero to me. And, even Superman gets beat up every once in a while. With that being said, anything you can spare for him and my Mom would be heavenly. Even if it's just a dollar. Those dollars add up. If you love me...then you love Norris Lirette. Because he's the reason I am the way I am. Thank you for considering donating to us. We love you. We appreciate you. And we hope you keep you loved ones close.
