This fundraiser is being sent to people who know about the story of Azlan and his family. Please help to support the family and alleviate some pressure, given they are dealing with the loss of their baby.

I am posting the story here to provide some further context. Thank you for visiting the page.

Whilst in Pakistan this year, I went to visit a Children's Hospital called Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation (PCHF). It was right next to the University of Lahore who had donated the land for the facility to be built. I was taken around by the acting CEO who had set up the foundation as he had lost his daughter to a Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) which is their main department. One of the doctors trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for children in the UK and decided to go back to Pakistan given the lack of available of cardiologists with a speciality in CHD. As you can see the main profile photo from the visit, the child presenting me with a bouquet of flowers was due to have his operation the day after my visit. His parents had travelled around 3 ½ hours from their village to this hospital. His mother was very grateful for being able to treat her son at this facility.

After returning home to the UK, I followed up on how the little boy’s operation went and how he was feeling.

This young boy has a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot, which can lead to decreased lung supply and, in rare cases (1-2%), abnormal vessels that may cause lung haemorrhage.

I write this with a very heavy heart to say the 4 year and 3-month-old boy, Azlan, faced these complications post the operation and is no longer with us.

Ever since I've heard, this has really stayed with me, and I recall his beautiful eyes staring at me with innocence handing over a bouquet of flowers which was just about his size. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Unable to remove this feeling of helplessness, I decided to reach out and find out their family situation. Azlan had two brothers and one sister, their father who is the only breadwinner who works in a paper packaging factory earning only around 25,000 rupees per month which is £68.22p. I was astounded at how the family survive and given they must face so many hardships, they now must deal with the loss of Azlan.

My family and I have decided to collect some funds to support the family which hopefully will alleviate some pressure on their current circumstances. This is where you can help and contribute to support Azlan’s family.

We will collect the funds and donate personally to the family.

Thank you for your support.
