The Little Theatre at Fisk University

Donation protected
The Little Theatre at Fisk University is the oldest building on campus built in 1860. It is a space for a community of artistic students on campus where they are able to exercise creative freedom while completing art, theatre, and acting studies at the school.

On March 30, a young woman student went to open the theatre for a desperately needed fundraiser only to find the space to be maliciously destroyed. The inside was vandalized beyond comprehension, yet nothing was stolen. These students have worked extremely hard with no budget and were set to open a 3 day run of a production that was completely student led, written, directed and acted in on April 4th.

The theatre doesn't have any security cameras nor does it even have proper WiFi. Campus security didn't feel the need to inform local law enforcement, and when local law enforcement was called, it was met with "well that's that."

In the face of adversity, our resolve only grows stronger. The heartbreak of discovering our beloved Little Theatre vandalized is a stark reminder of the challenges we face as a community. But adversity cannot extinguish our passion for the arts nor dampen our spirit.
