The Longoria Family

On behalf of the Longoria family, Edgar and myself have set up this Go Fund Me for our long time brother George Longoria. We have worked with, been in the trenches with, and have had many good times with George for most of our adult life. As many of you may know, he has contracted COVID-19. A few days ago he was admitted into the hospital and is currently fighting for his life. Below is a message from his daughter Lauren:
On Father's Day of 2020 I received news that my father, George, tested positive for the Coronavirus, i.e. Covid-19. We thought he could get through it unscathed, but just a few days later he was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with Pneumonia—a direct complication of Covid-19. Since that day, my family and I have been struggling to keep it together, as expected. Atop of all this, bills are piling up and I’m currently located in Los Angeles, CA—hundreds of miles away from my parents in Houston, TX.
Sadly, before my father’s hospitalization, he hadn’t worked for 2 weeks straight due to self-isolation protocols and even before that, was unable to work security for concerts and other events for over 2 months during the quarantine. Thankfully, we’ve been able to skirt by the past few months between my father's part-time job at FedEx, my mom’s part-time job at H&R Block and extra freelance work I manage to get in Los Angeles. But with my father now in the hospital and my mother on forced quarantine, it’s becoming harder for us to stay afloat.
I will be the first person to say that as a family, we are not accustomed to accepting handouts or asking others for money. We love our friends and family and in the past few days we’ve seen hundreds of people showing their support and love for my mom and dad. I cannot tell you how grateful we are to you all. At this time though, we do ask for continued support if you have the ability to do so. We know times are hard for everyone and for some, it’s worse. If you are one of the few who can spare, please donate so that we can focus solely on the recovery of my father through this very uncertain time.
At this point, we have an estimated $5,000 goal to help with the initial hospitalization and ambulance fees but of course, any more would greatly help us with living expenses—as my mother is holding down the fort by herself while we await our own covid testing results. Assuming we get the green light on both of our covid results, I plan on flying back to Houston to help care for my mother and grandmother who are struggling on their own.
If you’ve ever attended a special event, whether it was a concert, Astros, Dynamo, Rockets game, Rodeo, or club show in Houston, TX, chances are, you have seen or were in proximity to George, as he has worked for roughly 30 years in the event services realm! He’s prided himself in helping others and spreading love—so please, even if you are unable to make a monetary contribution, please spread the word.
-From the entire Longoria family, we love and appreciate all of you—thank you for everything!
Please spread this link to everyone and anyone that knows George and lets help them out.
