The loss of Jake Hannah from FV Wind Walker

*Update 12/10* Two bodies have been located off an island in Alaska, at this time they are identifying.. we do NOT know who is who.

*Update 12/03* At this time we have located someone (Global Marine) who can locate the boat and to possibly dive for remains. The estimate is $7000-$8000 per day. They said the longest it has taken them was 6 days..

It is with a heavy heart that we are asking for help. A son, brother, father, boyfriend and VERY beloved friend has been lost at sea. Jake Hannah travelled to Alaska to chase his dream as a commercial fisherman. Jake had his ups and downs, he struggled heavily with addiction.. But once he hit Alaska he knew this was where he wanted to be. He found his passion and reason to exist.. He would NOT let anybody change his mind, no matter how hard his mom tried. Jake went above and beyond for those he considered his family. Jake’s goal was to set everything up to become a Captain of his own Commercial Fishing Vessel, he was so close to having his permits and becoming his own boss…

Jake was on a F/V under the name of Wind Walker on 12/1 outside of Juneau Alaska when it went down due to weather..

We are attempting to send a crew to the last known area to locate the boat and attempt recovery of his remains and/or anybody else who may be on the boat, we would like to bring back his most prized possession being his 42ft boat named MyLine and if found cremated to return his remains to his family back in Oregon.

The efforts of this GoFundMe serve a few purposes for Carol, one being to hire a crew to attempt to recover the sunken F/V Wind Walker and possibly the lost crew, to attempt to bring closure to those who lost loved ones to this tragic accident. The other purpose is to bring them home for funeral services if found. If not, this would serve to cover ceremonial services for those on the boat, who lost their lives at sea.

At this time we have no idea what the cost would be for everything. Anything helps, even a share would mean the world to his family.

To Jake: We love you more than you could ever imagine. You were an amazing dad to Averee, the most astounding son to Carol and just truly an all around loved person.
