The loss of Kris Iverson #krisarmy #hustle

Kris Iverson.
Big voice, bigger heart. Kris has passed away and left a hole larger than his personality.
Kris loved… Kris gave… Kris helped…
Usually I’d back these things up and find a better way to spell this out, but as his friend, I think it’s more accurate doing it this way.
Kris was a coach, a fan, and a student of sport. Always giving up his time for wrestling, football, baseball, and floor hockey, or maybe it was just to be the fun guy around kids. If you ever met up with Kris and he knew your kid, I don’t think you’d be the first of your group he’d acknowledge.
I loved watching Kris as he would enter a group of kids. Ya, he was instantly the center of attention, but it was not for his benefit; Kris always made every kid welcome into his circle, to his bubble, into his heart. Kris wanted each one to know how special they were, and they felt it. Kris and I coached little league basketball. Kris decided a slam dunk competition was in order. However, as his son Karstan was the tallest at 44 inches, Kris had to help out. Player after player, Kris would lift each player for their slam. Twice.
Kris was the master of giving; it was all he wanted to do. When it came to fundraising, Kris went all in, I’m not sure if anyone will ever know the lengths he went to, and he never seemed to miss bottle drives, casinos, 50/50 ticket selling, or even walking into businesses for sponsorship for team hoodies. The length Kris went to for the kids seemed limitless. I still see the odd go dental logo on a baseball hoodia from the past.
My friends, I hope we as a team can try to repay this. As we say farewell to Kris, we know this is no small feat. Expenses are significant, and Kris Hustled to fundraise because he lived a meagre lifestyle and never really complained about it. Kris had a heart attack in springtime last year, limiting his ability to do much, which included losing his job. Since then, Kris was not working, however, was in talks to start a new career in the next few weeks.
We’re asking for 10 thousand in hopes this will be more than enough to cover all funeral expenses. Anything left over will be donated to winsport on his behalf.
If you have crossed paths with Kris or your kids have, I bet they remember him. Kris was an impact because he knew he could. Kris was the hashtag king. So, allow me to be so bold as I start the #krisarmy
