The Lydney Exchange

The Lydney Exchange is a community project that has gone from strength to strength over the last two years. We help our community by the redistributing of pre-loved / unwanted / outgrown goods of many types — clothes, household items, toys, books and many more. We operate on a voluntary basis with no monetary exchange at any point. People give us goods — we hold events & redistribute them for free and we have helped and supported hundreds of people over the years. It's Face to face recycling on a large scale.

Our only cost is our storage container, without which we could not operate. The unit is so vital and it is almost full as our next event is on 26th April. For our storage last year, a generous sponsor covered the whole cost of our container. Even with a generous discount from Now Storage our container costs roughly £1200 a year. Our sponsor did not even come from the Forest of Dean — he heard of our need through family connections. This year we would like to try & raise the money needed locally.
