-Our Story

The Mad Irons story actually started ten years ago, long before opening a mobile creperie was even an idea for us. Mark and Austin met at a closing hotel in the buffalo area and began to work with each other on a daily basis. It was there, that we became inseparable friends at work and in life. From the closure of the old hotel, we continued to work several industry jobs with each other over the years expanding our abilities, and our culinary expertise.

-Our Beginning

During covid we saw the change in the economy and in the restaurant industry as a whole, and that is when we decided to make a change. During that time, we had come up with an idea, and midway thru our endeavor we gained an opportunity to test out our concept and compete with local food trucks in the area. WE DID GREAT. Initially we didn't know how crepes would be received in various venues, but we received very positive feedback from the presentation and the quality of the food. It was then we decided to pursue our concept and make it a successful as possible.

-Continued operations

Since our beginning, we have come quite a great distance in making our dreams a reality. For the past few years, we have been making food and forwarding our brand thru numerous events like farmers markets (Lockport, Kenmore and North Tonawanda), private catering, holiday festivals (Buffalo Holiday Market), concerts, and many other venues that provide the opportunity for us to spread the love we have for our product.

One of our most unique highlights is providing cultural experiences to High School and Middle School students across the WNY footprint by showcasing our product while providing students with an in school activity, bringing the local French cuisine right to their classroom. For the past year we have gone to numerous Western New York schools to share with students' the process of creating crepes, and the rich history of the dish that has moved from France and Europe and has become a worldwide staple street food.

This has given Western New York French language educators a new, fun, and delicious way to incentivize local students to take French language classes. Making sure this excellent education program continues to grow and remain an elective for students.

-Expansion

After two years of successful mobile operation, we believe it is time for us to expand our operation. We have purchased a vendor trailer that we are currently looking for help funding the custom build for the interior. We believe this is necessary for us to expand upon our existing menu, and to expand to other types of food that will appeal to even more guests. This is the next step to grow our business in the WNY area and possibly beyond. The funds raised through Go Fund Me will go to the payment of the fabrication and customization work needed for our new trailer.
