The Mailman that lost his job defending himself

Hey everyone. My name is Jalyn. On 1-22-2024 I thought I almost lost my life to two pit bull mix dogs.

Im a mailman … well was a mailman, Imeas delivering mail like normal I approached a heard that I had knowledge about dogs living there. Before walking up to the house I performed my protocol such as whistling , shaking keys etc to alert the dog someone is near.

The dog was not present and I deemed the situation safe to deliver. As I’m in the yard the home owners decided to let the dogs out while i was still inside the fenced in yard. I began to scream “get back” to the dogs and grabbed my USPS dog spray that they give all the mail carriers. I sprayed both dogs trying to get away from their bite. After finally escaping the home began to come outside , “you sprayed our dogs” “haha that’s why you got bit” “fa**ot” and so many more derogatory slurs. I began to clap back at the people from

the safety of my vechile because they kept approaching me while i was treating my wound from the dog. As A result I’ve lost my position at the post office and seeking help to cover monthly bills and doctors cost for being treated. Anything helps you guys, these people knew they intention before it even happened.
