The man who helps so many needs help of his own

Our good friend and Daddio, Peninsula R&B Festival producer/director, Clint Carter, could use a boost. He has had cataract surgery scheduled on October 11th for weeks. His Medicare and supplemental will cover the basic procedure, lenses and aftercare. There is an additional, upgraded procedure available that corrects astigmatism, virtually all but eliminating the need for glasses, except possibly for up-close work and, unfortunately are not covered, and would be an additional $1,800 per eye. We are reaching out to friends and music family to let you know that we have launched a Go Fund Me campaign to help him get the deluxe model headlights.

Unfortunately, this week Clint was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and is going through the process with his oncologist to find the best treatment route for him. He has incredible docs and support teams, a positive attitude and is ready to kick ass and take names. He ain't called Tenacious C for nothing! We all look forward to seeing his posts about fishing on Loomis Lake and growling about tourists on the Long Beach Peninsula getting rigs stuck in the sand and driving too near the clam beds.

Clint works throughout the year setting up the festival and promoting NW artists as founding director and board chair of North Coast Productions, a 501c3. The festival, through this non-profit, supports three food pantries in the Ocean Park, Ilwaco and Chinook area, and contributes to the Ilwaco High School music program.

We are setting a goal of raising $5,000. This includes $3,600 to go directly for the upgraded cataract surgery, with anything left over to help the family out with gasoline, meals, medical equipment not covered by insurance, and anything else they may need for out-of-pocket expenses throughout the battle he is now undertaking.
