The Man Who Loved Flowers - A Short Film

The remarkable opportunity to adapt this story into a short film came to Tracey Hague our  screenwriter and director as part of Stephen King's Dollar Baby Program. This past year has been uncertain to say the least, and even though we worried that COVID and other recent events would bring the project to a halt, we didn't lose hope!

Getting outside again and into our beloved downtown Nashville to make this story come to life still seems like a dream, one we kept watching and waiting for, much like the handsome young man in our story who walks the city streets, watching and waiting for his lost love.



This story is meant to make us laugh a little, jump a little, and maybe even cry a little.

This fundraiser will be open until Feb 1. Your donations will help us pay for our props, gear, locations and food for our hard-working cast and crew. We will keep you updated throughout our process, and give our contributors a public thank you in the film credits.

Meet Our Team



Tracey Hague
Director/Screenplay Writer/Co-Producer
Last year, Tracey let go of a twenty year career in education to pursue her  dreams of becoming a filmmaker. A VERY recent graduate Nashville Film Institute, Tracey is inspired by all manner of myths and folklore - add a pinch of magic, and she's in!



Josh Scherer
Co-Producer
Josh is a local nashville actor and producer. He has worked on a variety of projects including sag feature films, tv shows, web series and more.



Seth Dunlap
Young Man
Seth is an American actor that has acted in various projects ranging from drama, action to comedy. He dives headfirst into every project he's working on and isn't afraid to go for it with every character he portrays.




Sara DelaHaya
Norma
Sara  is an actress, producer, and photographer based in Nashville, TN. Sara made her feature film debut in "Beast Beast", which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2020. When she's not working, she can be found cheering on the LSU Tigers and snacking on an endless supply of Hot Cheetos.




Deron Simmons
Flower Vendor
Deron is a retired Air Force veteran who loves automobiles. He studies acting at the 4th Wall Acting Studio.




Mckinnis Alaina
Young Woman
Mckinnis is an actor/dancer/singer/creative based out of Nashville, TN! Her hobbies include dancing in her living room in fuzzy socks and chugging coffee as quickly as possible. She loves hugs.




Sally Harvey Anderson & Ross Hamilton
Married Couple
Sally  is an actress, writer and teacher in Nashville, TN specializing in improv and poetry. Ross  is an architect and stand up comic. Sally and Ross are having a tiny wedding in a friend's flower garden in April of 2021.



A.T. Branch

A. T.  is a former U.S. Army Captain turned actor and alternative pop artist. He has been pursuing acting professionally for the past year and most enjoys making projects with his friends.




Zach Lazar Hoffman

Zach grew up in Los Angeles and is a full time actor and voice actor in the Nashville area. Zach! Is dedicated to the art of acting, devoted to the craft of storytelling, and committed to the process of becoming another. His passion is to demonstrate the broken state of humanity through devastating performances in an effort to inspire good in every soul. Zach! has voiced many characters that range from Steve Murphy in Narcos: Rise of the Cartel, Nightmare Fredbear in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Ultimate Custom Night, and many characters in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang;  as well as clients that range from The Los Vegas Raiders, BMW, Carvana, and ESPN.



Scarlett Brining

Scarlett is an agency represented actress, model, singer based in Nashville. She has experience with film, musical theatre, commercials, and print/modeling and enjoys weekly training with her acting coach.



Wyatt Brining

Wyatt  is an 11 year actor based in Nashville.  He has experience with TV, film, musical theatre and commercials and enjoys weekly training with his acting coach.




Kameron Adams

Kameron, age 9, started his acting and modeling career a few short years ago, but in that time, has booked several national commercials/print campaigns, and had roles in some amazing short films. He is agency-represented in Nashville and Atlanta and looks forward to every new opportunity to learn more about this industry!




Deborah Seidel
Homeless Woman
Deborah, born a Yankee, is now a proud resident of Nashville. She had a leading role in the 2020 horror film The Alpha Test, and has appeared in numerous other films, commercials, and theatre in the Nashville area and Los Angeles.



Michaela Nissen
Assistant Director
Michaela Nissen moved from Nebraska to attend the Nashville Film Institute. Since graduating, Michaela has been assistant director and editor on a couple of short films and has been working on her photography skills as well.
