- About This Project -

Welcome to our Crowd-funder appeal for our latest short film ‘The Mara’. We are a group of young and passionate film makers hoping to make this our best project to date. It’s an ambitious film that has required a huge amount of time and effort so far, and we plan to ensure this is reflected in the final product. Any donations or shares you can give to this project are incredibly appreciated!


- The Film - 

‘The Mara’ is a short psychological-horror film set in ~800AD England. It follows the journey of two Viking brothers heading east back to their homeland. As they travel, a sleep paralysis demon, the Vikings coined a ‘Mara’, torments the younger brother, Leif. Amund, his older sibling, attempts to aid Leif, but the more he does, the more he pushes him away and The Mara’s hold only gets stronger.


- How Your Money Will be Used -

Your support is very important to us as this is a self-funded project, so any and all donations will be fundamental to helping us bring this project to the screen. Your money will be used for:

·         A vast array of detailed production design to help bring 800AD to life on screen.

·         Travel costs for cast and crew.

·         Location costs.

·         Licensing Fees.

·         A full musical score.

·         Festival entries.

·         Food and water on set for cast and crew. 

·         Actor fees.

·         Kit Hire.
