The Mary Ann Knerr AAUW Scholarship Fund

Mary Ann Knerr was a treasured member of AAUW, a champion of education, and a role model for young girls. To honor her and her lifelong commitment to young people and education, her four kids are establishing an annual AAUW college scholarship in her name. As an active member of AAUW for 39 years and a professional educator, mom left her mark on her community. This scholarship is our way to continue her commitment to the education of youth.

Our target is to raise $50,000. To help reach this goal, her four kids will each match all contributions up to a total of $10,000. That means each dollar you donate will raise $5 toward our goal!

Once funded, the AAUW will each year award the Mary Ann Knerr AAUW Scholarship to a woman resident of Windward O’ahu who will be attending college in Hawaii. The scholarship will average about $2,000. For decades these scholarships have helped open up women’s educational opportunities and transform their lives.

This endowed scholarship will be managed by AAUW's Windward O’ahu Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to the Fund are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Each year’s recipient will be selected by the Windward O’ahu AAUW’s scholarship committee.
