The Matt Gibbs Family Memorial Fund

On August 21, 2021, Matthew Gibbs lost his battle with COVID 19. Matt passed away 20 days after his 55th Birthday and 4 days before his 30th Wedding Anniversary with Cassandra (28 years retired CHP). Matt has left behind his daughter Hunter, his son's Drake and Griffin, and his daughter Skyler a Senior at Poway High School....Matt's Alma Mater. Matt was always a hard worker and lived his dream of being a Police Officer, retiring with 30 Years with the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Matt then applied and gained employment as a Deputy with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, where he was currently employed at the time of his sickness. Matt has always put Family First. Matt and Cass scheduled different days off, opposite shifts, and worked countless holidays in order to make the kids their number one priority. Matt and Cass made sure that either Mom or Dad were ALWAYS home. Matt's ultimate goal was to provide a great life for his family and support his kids through a college education. Once the kids were through college he and Cass were going to enjoy all the extra free time with each other and the family. My brother in law Matt did not have this dream come true and our family is mourning.

Those who personally new Matt were touched by his smile and tortured by his humor and his obnoxious laugh. There are no words to express how this Very Special Man, my brother in law, will be missed.

The purpose of this GO FUND ME is to assist the Gibbs Family with unforeseen expenses as a result of Matt's passing. We are forever grateful.
