The Max & Miriam Yasgur Barn Restoration Project
Donation protected
Over 50 years ago the WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL took place in the tiny hamlet of Bethel, NY on Yasgur's Farm. It was the festival that became known for representing the spirit of a generation. It's been praised in film and song. It has even become part of our lexicon. Put "stock" at the end of any gathering and it's a festival.
The Iconic Yasgur Barn, is in need of restoration and structural upgrades. We are converting this legendary barn into a theatre and event space for family gatherings.
We need to remove the current accumulated storage, replace some floor boards, stop a few leaks, insulate and close the walls and get ready to welcome you home.
My late husband, Roy Howard, the previous owner of Yasgur's, had this plan in mind so many years ago. We are finding many of the materials he left for us in the barn. It's our job to finish his dream and honor the names of the couple who made a miracle happen: MAX AND MIRIAM YASGUR.
Your contribution to the labor for our love can help make your home a more welcoming place to come home to. Thank you.
