The McKain Family
Donation protected
I'm the little sister to Carrie McKain, and my brother-in-law Joe McKain. Together, as a blended family, they have five children, Kolin (27), Peyton (25), Taylor (25), Joey (17) and Jayce (12).
On April 10th, 2023, Peyton unexpectedly passed away. Our family was devastated, and the McKain Family began their healing process. The shock of his passing continues to come in waves.
99 days later, on July 18th, Kolin also unexpectedly passed away. He was in a terrible car accident and a nearby neighbor/hero was able to quickly get him to a hospital so final goodbyes could be said in person. When my sister entered the room, a nurse said, "You'll never be able to prepare yourself for this."
She was right.
Kolin and Peyton were always two peas in a pod. They did everything together. Wherever there was Kolin, there was Peyton - and vice versa. By age three, Taylor quickly joined the duo and was dubbed "The Three Musketeers." Kolin, Peyton, and Taylor grew up together side-by-side and experienced life through every season. Taylor found comfort and stability in having brothers so close in age. Then Joey and Jayce were born, and they looked up to their three older siblings. Taylor now carries the torch as the last standing musketeer to be the same comfort and stability that Peyton and Kolin once gave her.
I set up this Go Fund Me to help raise money for my sister, brother-in-law, and their family to assist with funeral costs and a f*#k ton of therapy for them all. Losing one child/brother has been difficult enough. They are not ones to ask for help, but I know that many of us are left broken-hearted wondering what we can do during this time. It's a win/win for all.
I'll never be able to take away their pain, but together, we can help minimize the burden of financial pressures and make grief counseling/therapy possible. This family cannot endure any more pain or loss, and shouldn't have to live in fear wondering "Who's next?"
There is no obligation to donate, but if you're able to, please know that your generosity (regardless of the amount) will make a huge impact in their healing.
Thank you. <3
