The McMullen Family

Treyton Ronald McMullen was born fighting, on a rainy day in March of 2011. Today, on another rainy day I sat in his hospital room and held his hand while he endures the fight of his life.

On July 4th my families life was turned upside down by a freak accident. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with Treyton knows how kind, intelligent, polite, witty, and caring he is towards everyone he knows. All of these amazing qualities that we all aspire to have, are part of his character. These qualities dwarf in comparison to the one that I admire the most. This boy has a stubborn streak a mile wide, and it is this singular attribute that he, and we, are relying on to get him through this unimaginable tragedy.

The pain and uncertainty we are all feeling, pales in comparison to the struggle that Treyton has to face ahead. While we are not physically suffering with him, there is a large emotional and financial burden we must all face.

Currently we have no timeframe for when Treyton may be able to leave the hospital. As you can imagine, that will lead to astronomical medical bills as well as other expenses that allow our family to be with him and the uncertainty to what accommodations he may need when he is able to go home.
