The McPhail Family

 It is with unbearable sadness we announce the passing of Tim McPhail, on Tuesday 18 April. Tim’s battle with cancer was fast and furious, and he passed away holding Patricia’s hand, and with his parents and brother by his side - surrounded by so much love. 

 The grief for the family is enormous. Tim was just 45 with a new business and a beautiful family. They’ve been so touched and grateful for the love and support they’ve received and the response has been amazing. 

 The funds raised on this go fund me page will assist Patricia in the coming months with Ollie’s high care needs and the associated expenses while she finds her feet in this next cruel chapter. Patricia has always performed the lions share of care for Ollie’s complex physical disability. However, she now needs our help to take away the burden of mounting daily living expenses, so she can continue to focus on supporting her children physically, mentally, emotionally in the next difficult and painful phase.

One of our local families needs our help. Many of you will be familiar with Patricia McPhail and her tireless year-round work for Hope for Ollie which raises money for a cure for Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy. She has raised nearly $200k for the Westmead Hospital and their research unit.

Her friends are devastated to learn that her husband Tim has recently become very ill, spending the last month in hospital and has recently received a terminal diagnosis. The family is deeply distressed and under significant pressure, with Ollie, their 12 year old son, requiring 24/7 care.

This go fund me page has been organised to assist the McPhail family with the mounting daily living expenses, supporting the coordination of Ollie’s needs, while Patricia spends as much time as possible with Tim. It is unclear how long he will remain in hospital.
