The Medfield Animal Shelter- Senior Project

Hi, I'm Mikayla Malmquist, a senior at Medfield High School. Currently, seniors have the opportunity to undertake a senior project, and I've chosen to collaborate with the Medfield Animal Shelter as one of their spring interns. After dedicating two weeks exclusively to the shelter, I've decided to adjust my schedule and pursue an additional project outside the shelter while also continuing my work inside. Over the next four weeks, my goal is to raise funds and assemble donation baskets filled with essential items for the pets.

I aspire to raise at least $200 for each basket, totaling approximately $600 for this aspect of my project. Each basket will be tailored to meet the specific needs of different animals and will include items such as food, toys, adoption bandannas, homemade treats, blankets, and other essentials.

Recognizing the shelter's heavy reliance on donations, my objective is to express gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the shelter employees. While the majority of the basket's contents will be purchased, I'll be contributing homemade treats and blankets. Moreover, any leftover funds—100% of them—will be donated to the shelter and used where they are most needed. By donating to this cause, you'll not only be supporting our pets but also showing gratitude to the incredible shelter staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to make it all possible.
