The Michael Ball Memorial Fund proceeds go to AFSP
Tax deductible
Michael Ball, a Claremont High School Sophomore and 2023 classmate, died by suicide Monday, January 25, 2021. He was an active part of his school community through speech and debate as well as a reporter for the school newspaper, The Wolfpacket. Michael will be deeply missed and will always be part of our 2023 family.
Michael was in a lot of pain from the loss of his mom two and a half years ago. Through COVID the struggle had gotten worse. He had been helped by such strong relationships with his dad, his siblings, his family, friends, teachers, Scout troop, debate team, and so many others. But in his depression, he was unable to process the support and options and in that moment of despair, he chose to take his life.
Michael had goals that he was working on. Through his Eagle Scout Project, he had planned to develop an app for teens with mental illness, as a one-stop location for information, encouragement, and contacts for help, ranging from suicide prevention hotlines to other kinds of support and care. Even in Michaels his own pain he was looking to help others.
The Class of 2023 would like to support Michael's cause by taking up a donation in his name to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Any donation will help us make an impact.
Thank you in advance for your contribution
