The Michael Family (Paige Fights Back)
Donation protected

In February of this year, Paige came home from school and told her parents that she was not feeling well. She had a slight temperature, sore throat, was congested, and the lymph nodes in her neck began to swell. Thinking it was a virus, they monitored her symptoms. However, the virus left but her lymph nodes would swell off and on. They took her to the doctor, and she had bloodwork done along with an ultrasound. Later that day they were told to take her to the ER.
In the early morning hours of March 21st my sister and brother-in-law heard the words that no parent ever wants to hear. Their beautiful, vibrant, and seemly healthy 15-year-old daughter, Paige, had Leukemia. This was something that they were very unprepared for and now had to navigate. Within the week, Paige had a port placed, went through an array of testing and procedures, cut 15 inches off her hair to make a halo wig, and started chemo. She has officially been diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphatic leukemia) a cancer which affects the blood and bone marrow.
Paige spent three weeks in the hospital (she was released a little over a week ago), but has remained positive, goofy, and in good spirits though all of this; and is now losing her hair from the aggressive treatment plan she is on.
Over the next 8 to 9 months, Paige will continue rounds of treatments, tests, and heavy doses of medications. Also not ruled out is the possibility of needing a bone marrow transplant. As you can imagine this is going to be a huge financial burden to Danielle and Jay and we are reaching out to family and friends for help with the ongoing costs that they are going to have throughout the next year. Please consider donating to help their family get through the next year. All proceeds will go to the Michael family to help Paige fight back!
Please also consider signing up with Be the Match. Even if Paige doesn’t need a transplant, there are so many people out there that do. Donate Blood Stem Cells | Be The Match
