Kelly Hackbarth-Miller's Surgery and Recovery

One of Kelly's favorite flowers is the sunflower, and it's only fitting because she is such a strong ray of light in so many people's lives. A supportive and loving wife, a dedicated and amazing mom, a thoughtful and caring friend, a kind and passionate teacher. After years of trying to cope with increasing symptoms, Kelly was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. She will be undergoing neurosurgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, and will subsequently be away from school for six weeks while she recovers.
