The Mills Family Home Lost in Fires

Thankfully, everyone is alive. That's all the comfort my sister & her family have to cling to now that the Santa Rosa wildfire has obliterated their home and everything they owned.
Hilary (Hess) Mills and Brian (Muehl) Mills and their children were suddenly evacuated at 1AM on Sunday, October 9. They had little warning, just enough time to grab a change of clothes. Then the fire took the rest of their belongings and left nothing more than a pile of ash in its wake.
The children - Abigail, age 11, and her brother Camden, age 9- are understandably shaken up by this destructive tragedy that has destroyed their home and devastated their entire community.
This campaign is being established on behalf of the family to help fund their immediate needs until the insurance claims process can begin.
It is hard to know what their needs will be beyond the immediate, but we DO know that they will be significant and ongoing. Please contribute to help blow past this fundraising goal and give this family a much-needed sense of security in the wake of this devastation.
At this time, the family needs money for clothing, shoes, and toiletries to return to school and work. The kids are passionate about hockey and will need to replace their hockey gear to return to their teams. This will be their main source of comfort and support as they deal with their overwhelming grief.
In the immediate future, they are fortunate to be able to temporarily stay with family in Sonoma once that area is stabilized. This will incur lengthy commutes and significant commuting costs. They'll eventually need to relocate to temporary housing closer to school and work and will need money to help with this financial hardship.
