The Mincks Faith Journey Thru Cancer #2

The Mincks family has a great challenge ahead of them, but if you know this family like I have for over a decade then you know that they soar through obstacles with the hand of God leading them to assured victory! Erica has been living life like a champ over the last 4 years since her mouth surgery removing a sarcoma tumor. She had quite a journey healing physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually with a strong support group by her side. She worked through the hardships adjusting to a prosthetic & today you’d never know because she still has a radiant smile. This year around Easter she noticed a bloody mucous when she coughed & on her 21st wedding anniversary she had intense pain in her rib area. She followed up with an X-ray that showed a 10x9.7 cm tumor in her left lung. A CT scan confirmed it & a lung biopsy sent to pathology verified it was malignant. Even while the reports aren’t favorable she knows that this is not her final diagnosis. Her faith remains stronger than ever knowing God is the God of turning impossibles into possible! A PET scan was completed July 7th and we are awaiting the results of this scan to see where the cancer is located. Erica will be traveling & residing out of state for what could be 2-3 months to receive oncology treatments that will be designed specifically for her in order to find the root cause & to say goodbye forever to the sarcoma. It is an expense not covered by insurance. In addition, other costs will be incurred with the travel, daily living expenses & maintaining the family home front from afar. She once again has a mountain before her, but she faces it with an amazing support group surrounding her who are eager to step in & help anyway they can.
