The Moe's need your help...

On Monday, November 28th, while at hunting camp, Eric was in an ATV accident. The brakes gave out and he was thrown from the ATV. He was found by Katie's brother Eric, who supported his life until paramedics from Schoolcraft Hospital in Manistique were able to transport him to Marquette via ambulance. While he is fortunate, as the injuries could have been worse, he did sustain multiple injuries to his chest, lungs and head, which will require surgery followed by extended care and stay in the hospital.

To complicate issues further, Katie (his wife), was diagnosed with colon cancer at the beginning of the month (November) and is waiting on her treatment to begin at Mayo Clinic in mid-December. The next two months will be challenging for them both.

As they look ahead, they are grateful for a strong network of family and friends who have helped in many ways. Although they do have insurance coverage, not all of the costs associated with both of their surgeries and recoveries will be covered. They, along with two teenage daughters, will be forever grateful for the care received not only in Manistique but also at Marquette General where Eric is currently in the ICU.
