The Mont Family
Donation protected
On Thursday, my family lost our house to a fire. The brave firefighters and first responders of Pottsville and Schuylkill County went above and beyond their duty to contain the damage and ensure our family's safety. Our generous neighbors gave us blankets and words of comfort while we were grappling with witnessing an instrumental part our past, present, and future crumble. We are truly grateful for the support we have received in these immediate days.
And now, after the initial shock is settling, we are grieving the loss of what had been our family homestead for a decade. This was not just a house - but a home - a place where my family laughed and loved and grew. It was a safe haven during difficult times and a place where we could rebuild. We always knew, no matter what happened, we would have physical and emotional shelter in this place. We are now working to pick up the pieces of our lives and find accommodations for our multi-generational family. Although we have immediate shelter and amenities, we are trying to raise funds to begin the undertaking of rebuilding the next chapter of our lives. We are facing finding a home that will accommodate our specific needs as our family has members that live with Parkinson's disease, intellectual disabilities, and there children who are under the age of 14.
