The Gallatin Futbol Foundation www.gallatinfutbol.org and New Vision Sports Club www.newvisionsportsclub.com are organizing The Montana Tanzania Exchange. This is an international soccer and civil service exchange in Arusha, Tanzania. This initiative is designed as an opportunity for Gallatin Valley youth to exchange culture, ideas, share stories and collaborate together to enhance community, both abroad and back home. We aim to bring together our youth players, coaches, trainers, and engineers to work with and improve the New Vision Sports programs and facilities by immersing and engaging with the local soccer community.
New Visions is part of Youth with a Mission Sports Ministry, which seeks to use sports and mentorship to help children reach their full potential. New Vision focuses on the development of every player in three areas: physical, mental, and—most importantly—the heart. Our project will impact the lives of hundreds of vulnerable youth in Tanzania, but may be even more transformative for the Bozeman players, whose character will be enriched through service and cultural exchange.
Onsite initiatives will include:
- Designing and operating a soccer camp for local at-risk kids;
- Providing training for refereeing, sports injury prevention, and exercise science (in partnership with New Vision Sports Club)
- Improving onsite facilities and providing training on sustainability and safety in partnership with the Senior Design Engineering Program at Colorado School of Mines by developing plans for:
- A mechanical device that serves as a mower, aerator, and painter, all built from bicycle parts
- Locker rooms and classrooms
- Host a Cow Tournament where our MT players will consolidate with the New Vision players to competitive teams and compete against local clubs. Winning teams take the cow back to their community.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 . These are three areas where we need help funding
