After multiple trips to the ER with massive headaches and fever, it was discovered that Devon has developed a virus that has worked up through the spinal fluid into his brain. He has endured many tests and his fight has just begun. After a week of unending pain, he was taken to a different facility. Upon being admitted his fever was 103.7, he was given a lumbar puncture procedure and that is when the doctors discovered the infection. In one week, there have been 3 CTs, 2 brain scans, 3 EKGs, and 4 days of every-hour blood sticks. Too many blood draws to mention. 17 bags of antibiotics before going to oral ones. We have no idea where this will be heading but we will be diligent in finding the best treatment possible. Though Devon does have some insurance it will not come close to covering this cost.
