The Mosaic Organic Farm Tractor

Many of you are familiar with The Mosaic Organic Farm, a teaching farm for people of all abilities to work side by side, learning about organic farming and creating fresh healthy produce for people with food insecurity on Long Island (please view our prior campaign, which raised almost $25,000 here, https://www.gofundme.com/mosaicfarm)  In this, our second year, we will probably double the amazing production we had last year, based upon what we've learned since we started!  Our farmer participants have learned a great deal, and have had great successes.  Our many community volunteers have really helped us to meet our goals, not only with respect to great organic produce, but in the creation of a community of abled and disabled farmers, all of whom work together to develop greater awareness and understanding of each other and the farming process.   It has been an awesome experience.

But as any farmer (especially one who farms organically) will tell you, the work can be back-breaking, particularly in this, the summer of the weed!  Between the late spring, the summer of first endless rain; then no rain; then  hot, hot, hot temperatures, we have had our work cut out for us.  While we relish the work, we know we could have even better production if we simply had a working TRACTOR.  I have been looking for one that I felt could do the job and that was affordable for a very long time.  Well, I've found it -- it's a beast, and I think it is just what we need to take the Mosaic Farm to the next level of organic farming.  It is a 2007 Kubota B2630 with a front loader.  It has a mere 400 hours of use, and is so close to our farm that we will incur no transportation cost.  In addition, we have seen it in operation and it will definitely meet our needs.  It is available for $13,000.  That's what we are trying to raise.

Can you help us?  All donations are, of course, tax deductible.  The good news is I've already received a $600 donation from an individual who prefers to remain anonymous, but who challenges all those who care about the future of the disabled in our society as well as the need to pay attention to where our food is coming from!  Any gift you can make will be greatly appreciated.
