The Mustard Seed Shelter Edmonton
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
I am currently doing a travel nursing assignment in Saskatchewan and by chance (or luck), I am 3 1/2 hours away from Edmonton, which some of you may or may not know is where my mom lives.
Two years ago I flew out to Edmonton to ‘find my mom’ as she has suffered from schizophrenia for many years and it was the first time I hadn’t heard from her in a lengthy period of time. During this visit I found out she was homeless and her illness had gotten much worse. Before you make assumptions, yes, I tried everything I could to get her off the streets and if you have questions, feel free to ask.
The Mustard Seed Edmonton is a non-profit organization that works to eliminate homelessness and poverty. It just so happens that they were a HUGE help in finding my mom two years ago. In 2 weeks, I am going to Edmonton for 4 days to try and see if I can find my mom once again, as I haven’t heard from her in 19 months. While I am there, I would love nothing more than to offer this organization help and support in a practical way and I wanted to extend the invitation for you to help as well! While I’m in Edmonton, I am planning on bringing some of these urgently needed items to their drop off location. This is why I have started this GoFundMe page! I want to bring anyone who would like to help along in the journey with me! I will make sure to update you every step of the way and send you pictures/messages to show you what your donation is going towards.
If you would like to help, feel free to donate! There’s no guarantee that I’ll find my mom while in Edmonton, but I would love to donate as much as possible to this organization that gets to be my eyes and ears when I can’t see or hear from her and provide for her in ways that I can’t directly.
